The Monsal Trail isn’t just any ordinary path—it’s a winding journey through the heart of Derbyshire’s Peak District, offering adventurers a chance to bike, ride horses, or simply stroll amidst breath-taking scenery. This trail has a rich history, born from the remnants of the old Manchester, Buxton, Matlock, and Midland Junction Railway, a lifeline between Manchester and London dating back to 1863. Though the trains have long stopped chugging along these tracks since its closure in 1968, the Monsal Trail now welcomes travellers to explore its tranquil paths and uncover the secrets of its past.
